Translator Training

2007 Spring Semester
Introduction
As China¨s
economy is further opened up and international business exchanges
become more and more popular, there is an ever increasing number of
people wishing to engage in the translation sector. However, learning
translation or interpretation differs sharply from ordinary language
training. According to characteristics of the translation sector,
YesMeaning International is now offering translation qualification
training jointly with Shanghai
Jiaotong University. Candidates who are
interested in translation/interpretation can enjoy professional
translation training provided by our cooperation. The qualified student
will be certified by YesMeaning International and Shanghai Jiaotong
University. Upon
completion of the training, some students will have the opportunity to
be contracted to YesMeaning International.
Training Programs Launched Recently
YesMeaning
International Institute has launched three programs, the junior
Chinese-English translation course, the senior Chinese-English
translation course and the advanced distance learning program, all
based in Shanghai, starting in the spring of 2007.

Duration: 3 months
Introduction of the
Courses:
1. Basic Theories of Translation: This course
emphasizes translation theories and skills, professional ethics, as
well as the unique Internet based translation process of YesMeaning
International.
Duration: 2 weeks
2. Case Study: Both Chinese-to-English translation
and English-to-Chinese translation. Each consists of twelve translation
projects with the teacher¨s analysis and appraisal.
